Training
Superior's training program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of our employees in an effort to increase productivity, prevent incidents, protect the environment, ensure a secure work environment and develop leadership qualities. The program also serves as an integral facet in our company's endeavor to foster cultural growth. The quality and level of professionalism we provide and exhibit during the training provides a lasting impression of our management's commitment to safety and training.
Superior Core Training
Superior Core Training is the foundation of our structured training process to prepare our employees to safely perform their duties within their scope of work. Our employees have the opportunity to experience their first exposure to our company during their initial core training. Core training is a three-day course that is comprised not only of the minimum regulatory requirements, but also customized safety and behavioral training. Although the regulatory aspect of Core training is not unique in itself, our Superior Core Training course is a cut above standard training methods and practices due to the proactive route we've chosen.
The Superior Trainer
The Superior Trainer is a full scale version of a 200-ft. class liftboat.
This is a one of a kind facility that simulates well intervention working conditions in a controlled environment.
The Superior Trainer was designed and built to provide our employees with a venue for specialized safety and skills training. The Superior Trainer boasts a 2,600-ft. training test well along with a 400-ft.2 deck to simulate a working production platform. The Trainer is designed to accommodate the training needs of employees and to offer a controlled environment where real working conditions are created to maximize retention of the safety and technical related training.
Some typical areas that are addressed in the hands-on training include:
- Swing Rope
- Personnel Basket
- Rigging
- Hazard Identification
- Body Positioning
- Job Safety Analysis
- Confined Space Entry / Rescue
- Fall Protection
- Crane
- Sub Part O / Production Safety Systems
By providing training on an actual working platform, we are able to evaluate well in advance the potential risks that will be involved in any operation, mitigating exposure to potential hazards. Technical training is the second track of our program and is critical in ensuring that our trainees, both short service and experienced are competent in performing their job duties.
Exceeding Our Customers' Expectations
Our program was specifically designed to be consistent with each of the major operators' health, safety and environmental (HSE) expectations. In addition to ensuring that each employee is competent to perform the work assigned, our training department continually analyzes, designs, develops, implements and evaluates all training courses and other developmental interventions to ensure continuous improvement.
SafeGulf Accreditation
Superior is also one of few contractors having its in-house training course accredited by SafeGulf. Our employees are being issued SafeGulf cards and are fully trained and immediately prepared for offshore embarkation.
