A Commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Superior Energy Services ensures that its service to customers remains at peak levels through a strategic Quality Performance Program.
Our process to improve operational performance focuses on identifying the root cause of quality issues, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence and measuring performance to understand what is working and where we can implement continual improvements.
Superior Energy Services is committed to quality in all parts of its business. Our corporate expectations require management to ensure mechanical and operational integrity through the development of preventive maintenance programs, mechanical integrity procedures, employee training and tracking systems to ensure completion of action items from risk assessments, hazard analyses and audits.
Health, Safety and Environment
Managing our business to ensure no one gets hurt
The Superior Energy Services approach to safety and the environment can be summed up in three powerful statements:
- No one gets hurt
- No environmental damage is acceptable
- Nothing is more valuable than our employees' health and safety
Our customers count on our safe work performance. We demand it of ourselves. And we work tirelessly to ensure that our people have the training and tools they need to make sure every day is a safe day.
For example, we provide extensive cross-training of employees so that they understand multiple aspects of complex tasks, not just their own piece of the puzzle. In addition, employees are trained to identify and assess potential risk through a behavior-based safety process and communicate any concerns to management. Our goal is to achieve employee ownership and participation in the HSE continual improvement process. And we give every employee the authority to stop a job at any time if work conditions are unsafe or if a particular action would be environmentally harmful.
Our focus on quality operations management underpins our health, environmental and safety commitment, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible, most efficient, incident-free service.
Superior has an HSE Management System that was developed by and reflects the input of each of its business units. Employees are trained in-house by qualified facilitators in a customized training program where they gain a comprehensive understanding of our HSE expectations and requirements.
Superior measures effectiveness of its HSE Management System through regular site safety audits, corporate business unit audits, customer audits and regulatory audits. Management participates with employees in site safety audits and safety meetings; during these processes, employees have the opportunity to provide direct feedback on continual improvement initiatives.
Superior views safety as a value that is incorporated into every facet of the company's operation. As a result of this effort, the company is able to demonstrate continual statistical improvement.
Superior Energy Services is committed to minimizing its effect on the environment and where opportunities present, protecting the environment. Business units within Superior comply with corporate policies, domestic legislation, regulatory codes and industry best practices. Superior's environmental programs are aligned to those of our customers.
Environmental management and corporate responsibility are fully recognized and acted upon. Every manager throughout the organization has environmental responsibility and accountability.
